Adoption: Out-of-State Certification

You are required to be certified to adopt in accordance with
the laws of your state by doing one of the following:

• Go to your local child welfare agency (usually no cost), OR
• Contact a private adoption agency in your state, OR
• Contact the Louisiana LARE Program Manager at 1-800-259-3428 for instructions if you are interested in adopting a Louisiana child.
